What a classic diner! Incredible food. Everything we ordered was delicious. I got the California Chicken Burger and it was chef’s kisssssss !! Can’t wait to go back. Also went for the first time on Jan 1st and the service was top tier. Love it 100x.

My order, #15, the Country Omelette, was a delightful medley of bacon, ham, mushrooms, and melted American cheese. Paired with golden fries and a refreshing glass of orange juice, it was as comforting as a hug on a cold day. The omelette itself was perfectly cooked—light yet packed with flavor, while the fries provided a satisfying crispness. It’s the kind of meal that instantly makes you feel at home. The dessert case was a showstopper, a glittering display of cakes and pastries, each one a tempting promise of indulgence. The lemon coconut cake and Nutella cheesecake caught my eye, but I was too full to give in—this time. The décor was classic diner chic, with polished wood panels, tinsel garlands, and a bar that looked straight out of the ‘60s. You could almost imagine Danny and Sandy from Grease sharing a milkshake in one of the booths. The friendly service and cheerful atmosphere were the cherry on top, making it clear why diners like Stop 20 remain beloved. Diners are more than restaurants—they’re cultural icons. They don’t chase fleeting trends but stay true to what they are: reliable, welcoming spaces where you can connect over simple, hearty meals. I ended up here on New Year's eve because I had no food at home and it was after 10pm. They were the only place serving food until midnight so I figured a cheese burger will have to do. I ordered mine on a pinini bread and asked for a double patty since 99% of the diners out there make paper thin patties. This thing was a beast. They make their own burgers which is obvious because both of my burgers were not exactly identical. My hat goes off to that one. As a business owner myself, whoever runs this place knows that cutting corners only cuts your profits, and making each and every patty themselves is a lesson every other restaurant on Long Island can learn from. I was not expecting much however, this burger was really Bang Bang Bonkers. I had to get a piece of 7 layer cake which they make themselves as well and it was simply smashing. Last, and most important.... CLEAN... The place is spotless, even the utensils. I don't care what price point you are targeting, keeping the place clean should always be a priority. I did not see one employee doing nothing. If they weren't helping customers, they were cleaning and taking care of the business. An example for every other restaurant to follow Nothing makes me happier than getting something to eat at a restaurant where my expectations are low or neutral, and then I got blown out of my seat with perfection of simplicity. Stop 20 Diner did not try to reivent any of the timeless classics that most people expect to be available at a diner and that is exactly why everything here is delicious. Everything here is delicous and all the staff, not just my waiter were helpful and friendly. Most of them even said hello. Unlike other diners, they give you a nice mix and match with eggs. Also their Crab cakes are delicious and meaty. I recommend you stop by and check it out.

I come here all the time, everything is delicious from breakfast items like salmon and grits, lunch Elmont burger or wraps to Shrimp penne a la vodka for dinner, I love this place. They have everything.

There are very few diners left these days but this one is outstanding in every way. The staff there all know and treat us like family. The food is good. The bathrooms are always clean. And there's ample parking for everyone. I'm sure if you visit here you'll definitely return.

Stopped by for Strawberry Cheesecake, and it was delicious. It was so delicious that I bought another one, the next day. You will not be disappointed.
